Our Region
Te Manawa Taki
The name of our region, Te Manawa Taki means ‘the heartbeat’ and represents our position as the heart of Aotearoa New Zealand. We are ready to be the strong heartbeat that will drive regional change for our people.
Te Manawa Taki is the largest collective of IMPBs across the country. As a regional collective we are stronger together and seek to engage with the crown collectively on common issues. Where it makes sense, we share resources to lower the cost for individual IMPBs and to ensure we are moving forward as one. This is unique to our region and we are proud to be working together to support the wellbeing of all Iwi and Māori living in our takiwa.
